Ingredients
Mackerel (Ayila)- 1 kg
Turmeric powder - 1 tsp
Salt - 2 tsp
Onion(big) - 1 no (finely chopped)
Green chillies - 10 nos (finely chopped)
Coriander leaves - 12 stems (chopped finely)
Curry leaves - 10 nos (chopped finely)
Ginger(finely chopped) - 1 tbsp
Black pepper powder - 2 tsp
Garam masala powder - 1 tsp
Potato(big) - 1 no (boiled with skin)
Egg(well beaten) - 1 no
Bread crumbs - 1/2 cup
Method of Preparation
1)Clean the fish and discard the head.
2)Marinate with salt and trumeric and steam cook till done.
3)When the fish has cooled down, remove the bones and the skin.
4)Crumble the fish.
5)Remove the skin of the potato and and crumble it when it is still warm.
6)Mix it well with the fish. Keep aside.
7)In a big wok, add little oil.
8)Add the finely chopped onion, green chilly, coriander leaves, curry leaves and ginger.
9)When it changes colour, add garam masala and pepper powder.
10)Cook for 2 more minutes.
11)Add the fish and potato mixture. Mix well and cook for 2 minutes.
12)Once the mixture has cooled, divide into balls that are slightly bigger than limes.
13)Flatten them with the help of a table spoon.
14)Dip in egg.
15)Roll them in bread crumbs.
16)Deep fry on medium fire till golden brown.
:- Serve hot.
